From today until February 26, the fifth edition of the UAE Tour 2023 will take place, a race on the World Tour calendar that brings together the best cyclists in the world and is known for its impressive scenery and challenging route, being one of the most popular and prestigious races of the cycling season.
The cyclists will compete for the red, green, white and black jerseys of the race during the 7 stages of this edition. The route of this edition will begin and end in Abu Dhabi and will include the cities of Dubai and Al Ain, and with a challenging route through the dunes and mountains of the region.
The champion of the fourth edition, Tadej Pogacar, will have to make way for the future winner who must first overcome more than 1028 km of racing and a significant drop of 3500m . The edition features four stages for sprinters , two mountain stages (which are better suited to the climbers in the peloton) and a 17.2km long high-speed team time trial stage , making the UAE a opportunity for runners to show off their skills in different terrains and weather conditions. From the hot, dry climate of Abu Dhabi to the cool mountains of Al Ain, runners will need to be ready for anything.
This tour is one of the most anticipated by professional and amateur cyclists, and will feature some of the best riders in the world, including cyclists from top-level teams such as Ineos Grenadiers, Team Jumbo-Visma and Bora-Hansgrohe.
